Sony still doesn’t have their shit together totally since they are still
loosing money as a whole company.
Honestly for a while the xbox one was better value here in Australia
because it was $50 more than the ps4 but had titanfall and FM5 included.
But honestly dropping the kinect should have happened before launch. I
think Sony has been able to ride the pre launch xbox hate well and in some
cases took advantage of it (In canada it was was increased by $50). I say
by uncharted 4 sony should definitely have a good bundle deal because the
big reason why a lot of people haven’t bought the new consoles are because
a)There aren’t enough games b)the games available are bloody expensive
(Around $90-$100 per game which is ridiculous)

I call bullshit on this whole thing. Nobody was developing good games for
the Kinect before; it’s just even less likely they will now. Also, people
should have expected this, especially anyone with half a brain working in
the industry. Blunty, your whole “reek of desperation” argument is frankly
idiotic and only relevant to Microsoft shareholders. Any average consumer
would only care that they can now get a better deal if they were already
considering buying an Xbox One. Regardless, the Xbox One was partly a
business expense for you anyway, so there is no way that you weren’t going
to buy it even without the Kinect. Lastly, outside of fanboy arguments, the
small performance differences between the consoles are pretty irrelevant.
Anyone actually concerned about good graphical fidelity and performance
should know you won’t find either on a console.
Didn’t MS say only a month ago that Xbox is Kinect, or something along
those lines?
Now Nintendo just needs to release a Wii U without a tablet controller.
Maybe its just the video but that cable on the kinect looks really thick.

I see it as Microsoft’s attempt to bring out a bundle that can compete
directly price wise with the PS4. The average consumer would probably find
a lower price point much more attractive than the inclusion of a peripheral
that they may or may not use. It sucks completely for devs that have been
relying on the inclusion of the Kinect, but at this point, I think
Microsoft is much more concerned about moving units than pleasing
developers.
The whole about face is because the Kinnect has failed!
Now it looks interesting .. but still … i’ll be getting a PS4 next year
after i get tired of my Xbox 360 …
Seem to recall with the original xbox they dropped the price and gave away
3 free games to early adopters
This is nothing new with buying MS products, they say all sorts of stuff
then screw everyone over a year or so later on.
This has happened with windows, office, the console, flight sim, though
they asked lockheed to buy it back and lockheed said get lost.
This would have to be around the 15th time I’ve seen MS do this, you act
like this is the first time.
I thought you played games etc for 30 years or something, if you did you’d
already know this from the 90’s

This is why I don’t like the idea that people keep throwing about Nintendo
abandoning the GamePad to lower the cost to make it an “option.” The
problem is, that “option” is going to be owned by a VERY small number of
users who either bought the system in its first or second year, or the VERY
SMALL amount of people who buy a cheaper GamePad-less Wii U and buy the
GamePad separately… that means whatever interesting ideas Nintendo has for
the thing will be completely wasted on a small number of people. Exactly
how can the EAD developers count on making an interesting game with like
15% of the user base actually owning a GamePad?
Plus, taking out the GamePad would make the Wii U even LESS enticing for
consumers because… what exactly would it be now? Just a slightly different
looking Wii with better graphics?
You just have a buyer’s remorse. You said it yourself. They are getting
their asses kicked by PS4. They need to sell more xbox one. Profit profit
profit. They are just reacting what the market is telling them.
I’m just pissed that they didnt do this earlier.. i mean, i just bought an
xbox one and then a day later they announce a price drop without the
kinect.. I always have bad timing with shit like this -.-
Kinect feels lot like Nintendo’s NES robot peripheral. It was an expensive
addon that nobody wanted.
Well its obvious you dont agree with this descision blunty. What do you
suggest they shouldve done instead?….Say Fuck you to the millions who
want to buy it without Kinect?? Kind of a dammed if you dont dammed if you
do attitude dont you think? They’re a big company who needed to make a move
and the new head boss at Xbox saw this as being the best move for them
because well…this is exactly what a fuck ton of gamers have been asking
for. I cant really fault them for doing this, unless we just want to shit
on them some more because its fun. Sony made lots of changes to how they do
things based on their successes and struggles with the PS3….so why is
everyone shitting down microsofts throat when all they did was give gamers
what they’ve asked for?
No kinect, no DRM, No Paywall is exactly what everyone wanted
This was always going to happen. Microsoft just basically showed that
everything that everything they told you at E3 was basically complete
horseshit and that the whole time they told you to Xbone couldn’t function
without Kinect was just an excuse to get you to spend more money. Even at
the same price, the PS4 is still by far the superior console.
Early adopter here… kind of pissed of but more so by lack of games for
xbox…
